About me:
Thanks for visiting my website.
I am a singer/songwriter with strong Marc Bolan & T.Rex influences.
I play guitar, perform live, and produce CD's for myself and other artists. My latest CD ‘Star Child’ can be
sampled & purchased by visiting HomePark Studios website. Also for
sale at that site is ‘Rehearsal’, a CD I produced for female vocalist, Jo Grant.
I am currently working with
Bill Legend (the T.Rex drummer from 1970-74), on a project whereby we play T.Rex songs live and I do an interview with Bill showing photo's
that depict his life story and his time working with Marc Bolan and T.Rex.
I was also the interviewer for 'Bill's Story' which appears on the DVD
'Born To Boogie' which was released by
Sanctuary Records in 2006). (The links below give greater details of all the above).
I have developed this site so that friends (new and old) can find out what I have been up to over the
years (and if they want - make contact with me), and also to promote my music and current projects.
I am also the proud owner of a rocking horse which came from Marc Bolan's management office in New Bond Street,
London.
My background as a performer started at the age of 10 when I started acting, firstly on the West End Stage in London
and later in various roles on Television and in the odd film. I attended the Barbara Speake Stage School in London
from the age of 13. My claim to fame there was that I won the school's drama cup one year - awarded to me by Phil
Collins. To name-drop some more, during my time as an actor I worked with Prunella Scales, Maggie Smith, Susan Hampshire, Dave Allen,
Keith 'cheggers' Chegwin and Simon Le Bon (of Duran Duran fame) and others.
This photo (on the left) is from TV series 'A Bunch of Fives' which was first broadcast in 1977.
I started songwriting when I was 13 and in my late teens I made recordings for EMI in the UK and for Powderworks Records in Australia as both singer and songwriter. During this period I made recordings produced by the likes of Herbie Flowers (bass player famous for playing with Marc Bolan/T.Rex, David Bowie and 'Sky'), Malcolm Irington (Crocodile Music Radio Jingles), John Springate (of the original 'Glitter Band') and Alan Merrill. Alan was the lead singer with 70's pop group 'The Arrows', he later became guitarist for Meatloaf, and is most known for having penned 'I love Rock 'n Roll' - a massive hit for Joan Jet in 1981 and covered by Britney Spears in 2001.
A full resume of my acting and musical credits can be found in the list of links below.
In case it's of interest, my bloodline on my father's side of the family links me to the Rose clan who's family
seat is at Kilravock Castle situated in Croy, Inverness in Scotland.
