Tips For Presentations & Key Note Speeches

Put aside time to plan - many presenters work on a last minute basis -oops I’m presenting tomorrow, I better get it ready’ !

Have a clear structure - know your key messages and how you are going to back them up.

If you are using visual aids such as PowerPoint make them useful and simple - don’t make the visual aids your script !

Create some notes - just bullet points - you never know, you may need them,

Rehearse!  - if a theatre company put on a play with no rehearsal it wouldn’t be very slick. Your presentation deserves rehearsal time.

Get yourself physically ready. If you were going to run a race you would warm up your body. With a presentation you need to get your brain and your mouth working together!

Concentrate on your audience, not yourself. The presentation/speech is for them, so make eye contact and show you are interested in holding their attention.

Don’t make inappropriate jokes - if they fall flat you will feel embarrassed, and so will your listeners !

Be positive (or even enthusiastic) - there’s nothing worse than listening to a boring speaker.

Have a welcoming attitude towards questions. You want to get questions because it’s a way of obtaining feedback and ensuring that your listeners get what they needed out of your presentation.

Tips For Booking A Training Company - Like Us!

Are you going to be able to deal directly with the person running your training programme? - not just a sales person who purely wants to sell you a course!

With us - it’s the trainer who works with you throughout

Has the trainer got experience in your line of business?

We will only ever provide you with a trainer who has the relevant background and experience

Have you been able to fully assess the needs of the people who will attend the training programme. If you miss the target, or if they have unrealistic expectations it will appear like you chose the wrong training company, and you will look bad.

We provide a specially devised system to ensure that course delegates have a good feel for what the course will provide, realistic expectations and a set of individual objectives

How will you know if the training has really worked in the long term? - So called ‘happy sheets’ are not enough. Research tells us it takes about eight weeks to make or break a habit.

Our system provides you with a complete follow-through process, including review of original objectives, action planning and post training follow-up reviews to assess long term results.

How much are you paying? Too cheep and you are probably not getting quality training. On the other hand we have come across some companies who ‘charge the earth’ but don’t do anything we can’t do.

We will always charge a fair ‘middle ground’ fee and adapt where possible to meet the needs of your budget
