Tips For Presentations & Key Note Speeches
Put aside time to plan -
Have a clear structure -
If you are using visual aids such as PowerPoint make them useful and simple -
Create some notes -
Rehearse! -
Get yourself physically ready. If you were going to run a race you would warm up your body. With a presentation you need to get your brain and your mouth working together!
Concentrate on your audience, not yourself. The presentation/speech is for them, so make eye contact and show you are interested in holding their attention.
Don’t make inappropriate jokes -
Be positive (or even enthusiastic) -
Have a welcoming attitude towards questions. You want to get questions because it’s a way of obtaining feedback and ensuring that your listeners get what they needed out of your presentation.
