Comments of recommendation from one of our longest clients

I have worked with Michael Westland Rose and his company Presentation Partners for nearly 20 years. Michael initially ran a Presentation Skills programme for me at Sulzer UK Building Services which was a resounding success. Our Safety Manager commented that he had learnt more on Michael’s one day programme than from a two day course he had attended several years earlier.

Following this Michael also assisted us with the training of managers and employees when I first introduced a Performance Appraisal scheme into the company.

Over the years I have re-booked Michael on a regular basis to deliver

Presentation Training for teams where he has travelled to all our offices in the UK helping our project teams with their pre and post contract bid presentations.

Michael was used by other parts of the Group and the feedback from them was always excellent - as I expected. At other times, Michael and his associates have delivered Time Management courses, a range of individual and group presentations skills programmes.

Most recently Michael has trained some of our more senior staff who felt they didn’t need the training, but were won over by Michael’s ability to advance their skills. He has also given some individual coaching sessions to some of our more wary and reluctant employees who were required to give ‘tool box’ talks. These sessions were also very well received by the originally reluctant staff.

Presentation Partners has always provided us with excellent training and more importantly a consistency to different locations of the business.

I am very pleased to recommend Michael and his company and when I move to another company I would not hesitate to use them again.

Business that comes as a result of an MD’s recommendation

Michael and his company Presentation Partners were originally recommended by our Managing Director, Gary Walsh, who attended a Presentation Partners ‘Communication Skills’ programme when he was a manager within Unigate Dairies some 15 years earlier. Later, after taking a senior position at Green Isle Foods he received personal coaching from Michael to help with his presentations to the board of directors.

For several years now, we have used Michael’s expertise on a regular basis for our in-house Presentation Skills courses and he delivers individual coaching to senior staff from both Green Isle and Northern Foods (who merged in 2007).

All the feedback from participants has been excellent, and those who receive the individual coaching have reacted highly positively and usually request follow up sessions.

Recommendation from a CEO who received Media Training

Having given a live interview to Bloomberg (the financial news TV channel) I asked our HR Director to source a specialist trainer to help ensure that I could enhance my delivery for future interviews. We chose Presentation Partners and Michael Westland-Rose was able to meet with me during one of my visits to the UK. During the one day of coaching Michael was able to respond quickly and effectively to all my specific needs. He reviewed the televised interview and set up a number of ‘on the spot’ practice sessions, each focusing on ways to enhance the way I came across on television and also to get my messages across within an interview. His specialist coaching combined with use of video playback helped to advance my skills quickly and enabled me to see immediate results.

Following the success of my session with Michael, I recommended him to work with our Financial Director to improve his internal presentations and media interview skills. Michael travelled to our offices in Switzerland and delivered an equally successful day of coaching.

Comments from a new client

Using an external training company for the first time always feels rather risky. No matter how much research you undertake to make your choice you can never be totally sure if it has paid off until you receive the feedback from trainees.

After meeting Michael Westland-Rose in a social setting I decided to ask him to run a pilot programme in Persuasive Presentation Skills for a selection of experienced and less experienced sales and marketing staff. I knew that this group off attendees would present Michael with a broad range of abilities and requirements which would fully test his abilities.

I was in the office next to the board room where the course was taking place and so received immediate feedback. By the first morning break the delegates were already giving positive comments and all the feedback at the end of the two day programme was excellent.

As a result, Michael was requested to run an individual coaching session for our UK Vice President which was also very well received.
