Personal Impact & Communication

Background
This course was designed according to the brief of one of our major clients. The objective being to concentrate on developing the impact that senior people can have within high level meetings and presentations. Our client has run this course over a number of years for small groups and with individuals (including those at board level) and they have been delighted with the results.

The course can be tailored to meet your own company needs and used at all levels - first line staff who need more confidence in their communications, more experienced staff, or senior managers who still need to enhance the impact they have on others. The course normally lasts between one to three days depending on exact requirements and numbers.

Ouline Contents
Introduction
Course objectives, delegate introductions, personnal objective setting, analysis of impactful communication, revue of barriers & stumbling blocks.

The Current Status Quo
Revue of delegates current skills, a look at how they come across to others, how they perceive themselves, how others are likely to perceive them.

Building on Strengths
How inner confidence works, how to develop greater self awareness, how to build on current strengths and reduce weaknesses, developing a strategy to develop or build confidence.

Maximising Impact in Outgoing Messages
Planning & preparation, clarifying & targetting messages, making messages motivational to recipiants, presenting the message with maximum impact.

Impact Through Personal Appearance & Body Language
Dress codes & styles, choice of colour, stance & posture, Good & bad body language, eye contact, the effect of hands & gestures.

Impact By Attitude Management
How attitude management works, why attitudes change, the effects of positive v's negative attitudes, what type of attitude to choose, how to manage & control ones attitude, handling difficult situations.

Vocal Impact
How the voice works, how attitude effects the voice, the effect ones voice can have on others, how to develop vocal impact, exercises to use, breathing technique, use of the mouth, use of vocal chords, vocal projection, portraying confidence through the voice, gaining attention by using vocal command, vocal control - variation, pitch & tone.

Influencing Outcomes
Use of key influencing indicators, listening skills, handling peoples' questions to their satisfaction, questioning technique to clarify concerns, win-win approaches, using verbal contracts and follow through to ensure positive outcomes.

Training Style & Venue Requirements
The programme is fully interactive within a positive workshop style environment. All points are covered in exact relevance to individual needs. Their is extensive use of video and positive revue sessions for the main bulk of the teaching.

The course requires one room (plus syndicate room if there are more than four delegates), flip chart, TV monitor, O.H.P. & laptop projector (such as LCD or LitePro).
