| Who Should Attend: | New and existing teams who would benefit from learning a little about effective teamwork whilst having some great fun! |
| Objectives: | This event is aimed at providing a fun atmosphere in which existing teams can learn some key principals for effective teamwork. More essentially they will gain a greater appreciation of their own (and their fellow team members), skills and qualities, and how to utilise those for the success of the team. |
| Style: | The event consists of a series of team games and exercises with occasional review, teaching and learning periods. All activities are aimed at providing a highly enjoyable and sometimes challenging day out! |

Outline 1 day event for up to 10 attendees:
Introductions and advice for the day1st exercise - 'Quick off the mark' The team have to locate specified items around andabout and bring them back to base - but how will theyget hold of a granny!! (Review period afterwards) 2nd exercise - 'The egg tower' Two teams build a tower out of specified materialsthat must hold a hard boiled egg at the top. Thehighest tower wins (Review period afterwards) 3rd exercise - 'I'm OK Jack' A team of 5 people (plus onlookers) have to arrangesome cut out shapes together to make 5 squares, but how are they going to do this when they can't talk to each other? Take time - we review what's been learnt so far and provide some teaching about the make up of effective teams 4th exercise - Not The Eurovision Song Contest! Two teams (or the whole team) create lyrics to a famous tune (as specified by the tutor) that depict each team member's personal positive qualities,and then they sing it to camera!!! 5th exercise - 'What a performance!' Two teams (or simply the whole team) have to produce a video that promotes their department and all the individual team members' positive contributions. First they are taught how to create a professional video, then they must create a script, choose a director, camera crew, actors etc. But who will get the Oscar? Final review and personal action planning |
Knowledge & Skills Learnt:
How easy it can be to break a team up and throw them into turmoil! How teams can fail if they have not thought enough about objectives and tactics How every member of the team needs to contribute their bit to help the team succeed What actually makes up an effective team and how individual skills and qualities (however different to your own) are so vital and important for success How voiced appreciation gives everyone a great boost Look how well you can work as a team. Now take it back with you and keep up the good work! |
